The Tigers of Wasatch Academy enter the 2019 ‘Iolani Classic as first-time participants, but Head Coach David Evans has been here before, helming Lone Peak when they participated in 2015, finishing 4th in the tournament. Wasatch Academy brings a very talented team to Honolulu this year. The Tigers qualified for the GEICO Nationals last season, finishing the year #1 in Utah and #10 in the nation. The Tigers will be led by seniors 6’9 Mady Sissoko, 6’9 Caleb Lohner, 6’5 Richie Saunders and 6’0 guard Mike Saunders. All four seniors averaged double figures in points per game last season. Incoming guard Richard Isaacs Jr. is expected to make a major impact, along with Brennan Rigsby, Matus Hronsky, Leonard Miller and Kamryn Waites.

Coach Evans commented on the team: “This is a very diverse group of skill and athleticism. All five of our seniors are NCAA Division 1 commits. It’s the strongest team in the 108-year history of the program.”
