Led by Head Coach Steve Hathaway (11 seasons), the Rough Riders of Roosevelt High School are making their ninth appearance in the ‘Iolani Classic this year. Roosevelt was last in the field in 2014 and have won 12 times in the event. The Rough Riders are coming off a successful 2017-18 season, finishing the year at 18-9.
This year’s group will be led by seniors Micah Visoria, Cameron Miyasato and Chris Lee. Visoria averaged 17 ppg last season and is on pace to be a 1,000 point scorer for Roosevelt. Lee, a 6’3 forward has worked hard on his game and is able to play inside or outside. Coach Hathaway shared some thoughts on Roosevelt for this season. “I am looking forward to seeing this team create havoc on the defensive end. We will be deeper than most teams I have had in the past. Going fast but under control will be the key to our success this season.”
