Moanalua, led by Head Coach Byron Mello enter 2017-18 season with one of their deepest, most balanced teams in recent memory. Na Menehune, coming off a state tournament berth, look to grow from last year’s performance. Moanalua will be led by seniors Caleb Casinas and Saige Pulu. Casinas, a team captain, will be looked upon to score for Moanalua, while Pulu, as a forward will be asked to provide both strength and quickness for Na Mehehune. Junior guard CJ Bonilla is also a veteran varsity player whose ability to slash and defend will be important for Moanalua this season.

Newcomer DiAeris McRaven, a 6’5 sophomore, adds size and a true post presence for Na Menehune this season. McRaven will be counted on to impact the game defensively and score with his back to the basket. Coach Mello has expectations for his team. “We expect our team to compete for the OIA Championship and secure a berth in the HHSAA State Tournament.”
