The Warriors of Kamehameha Kapalama enter the `Iolani Classic for the fourth time in 2021. The Warriors finished 2-1 in the 2019 tournament, good for 5th place. Kamehameha is helmed by Pualei Straight (3 seasons) and our coming off a 13-12 season in 2019-20. Kamehameha is a member of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu (ILH) and did not have a formal season in 2020-21. The Warriors will be led by a pair of athletic guards, 5’3 senior Kylee Kamauoha-Phillips as well as 5’6 junior Kya Kanoho, who together will be difficult for opponents to defend.

This season we are committing to the following: “Trust. Unite. Persevere. Move forward together.” We expect our girls to remember that they play for more than themselves. We have a young and somewhat inexperienced team as our older returnees do lack some game time experience due to not having a season last year. Our focus this season is on growth, trusting in the process, and uniting together as one ‘ohana.
