The Falcons of Kalani High School are back in the ‘Iolani Prep Classic for the third time in 2018. The Falcons finished in eighth place in their previous two appearances in the ‘Iolani Classic. A strong season culminated in the 2017-18 OIA DI Championship with a victory over Moanalua High School. At the helm of Kalani is Head Coach Chi Mok (32-24, 6 seasons). Kalani returns a strong nucleus, led by senior guards Daesha Viela (9 ppg) and Heidi Kishaba (8 ppg). 5’7 sophomore guard Alayna Akiona also returns after averaging 14 points per game last season. Kalani is also expected to get key contributions from 6’0 senior Kamalu Kamakawiwo‘ole and 5’4 sophomore Kalena Halunajan.

Coach Mok expects the Falcons to compete for the OIA DI Championship and make a run at the HHSAA Championship.
