The Surfriders of Kailua High School are looking forward to an exciting 2018 campaign. Led by Head Coach Wally Marciel, Kailua will make its fifth appearance in this years ‘Iolani Classic. The Surfriders will be hoping to follow-up on an impressive 2016 sixth-place finish in the tournament. Seniors Everett Torres-Kahapea, a 5’11 guard, 21 ppg, 6’6 Isaiah Hopson, 12 ppg and 6’1 guard Kaniala Williams will be counted on heavily. Juniors Lydell Romero and Nainoa Peters will also be expected to make an impact.
Coach Marciel commented on this year’ group: “We are very excited about the group of players we have in the program this year. There is a strong desire to compete and play at the highest level. Our players want to play an up-tempo/high energy game. We are looking at our returning seniors to provide the guidance and leadership on and off the court. It's going to be a fun year with this group.”
