The Red Raiders of Kahuku enter the 2019 Girls ‘Iolani Classic after last appearing in the tournament in 2009. Led by Head Coach Latoya Wily, Kahuku is coming off an excellent 2018-19 campaign, winning the OIA Championship and finishing sixth in the state of Hawai`i. Kahuku will rely on some experienced returners for this year’s team. Senior guards Serina Aumua-Tuisavura and Tatianna Kamae along with junior guards Maya Claytor and Leiah Naeata will provide veteran leadership for the Red Raiders.
Coach Wily discussed this year’s team: “We hope to gain more team experience from competing against high-caliber teams in this classic that will help us better prepare our game for our regular season and states. We want to have an effective, versatile and well-balanced team with chemistry.
