The Dragons of Bishop O’Dowd enter this year’s ‘Iolani Classic after last entering the tournament in 2014. The team from Oakland, CA is led by Head Coach Lou Richie and is looking to build on a strong 2016-17 season. Bishop O’Dowd finished last year with a 19-11 record and a conference championship.

The Dragons will rely on some key returning players including senior guards Elijah Hardy and Naseem Gaskin, both double-figure scorers last season. Incoming student-athletes Ross Williams and Will Chavarin will be counted on to help in the backcourt also. Coach Richie has expectation for this year’s group. “We expect to challenge for the championship in our league, our section and for a Northern California Championship. We expect to do it with integrity, hard work and great sportsmanship!”
